Welcome!
I am a candidate for an at-large seat on the Board of School
Commissioners for Richland County School District One. This is a year
of opportunity, a year in which a new course can be charted in
our schools.
Three of the seven seats on the Board are up for election. After
years of turmoil, we have a superintendent, Dr. Percy Mack, who is
now in
his third year at Richland One. He enjoys the support of the Board
and his
appointment has been well received in all parts of our community.
I believe in leading by example and finding common-sense solutions
to the challenges faced in our schools. As a member of the Richland
One Board, I will continue to be an advocate for every school and
for every
child. I look forward to continuing to serve as a policy maker
on the board and providing an environment in which our superintendent
and
teachers and staff can be successful in achieving the goals set for
District One.
Richland One is huge, extending from the Wateree River to St.
Andrews, from Lower Richland High School to Columbia High School.
There are more than 23,000 students, representing thousands of families.
I hope that this Web site will help me reach out to each of the
families in Richland One. To Every School. To Every Student. I hope
too that
this Web site will help each of you be a better informed voter
when you go
to the polls to vote on Tuesday, November 2nd.
